Instructions provided with awning blind are useless - do not clearly show what should be done. Found YouTube video ( Velux official) which was better but still not as clear as possible - it did not relate to exactly how my model of window was constructed relevant to the details shown . Once I figured out what it actually meant, installation was easy. You do not need to drill any holes only need a torx bit screwdriver ( not stated in instructions)
Fitted new blind into old Velux window. Good that Velux still supply items for old installations. Quick to fit - good quality product.
Even though my order was for an older type window, it was not until I contacted customer service / technical and sent photos, was I told to remove the old side runners from the main frame before installing the fixing brackets. There is no mention of needing to do so in any Velux instructions. I can\'t be the only cutomer who has had a similar experience.
The order did not state how long until delivery. Had to raise customer services to find out what was happening. Order took a long time to deliver. Maybe if stock the problem I could of been updated by email . thanks
This has been an awful experience. I bought the product in advance of some renovations. The package was somewhat damaged but I did not think too much of it. When I when to install one of the red securing tab was loose. Again I didn’t think too much of it. When I mounted (second one I’m installed) the blind was detached from the main power unit. I unmounted and failed to put it right. It is now an expensive waste. I’m now familiar with the design and certain the bind became detached during transit due to damage/dropping of the box.
All great - lovely blind, great quality and good delivery. Only drawback is it seemed a bit pricey
I ordered and paid for an additional fitting kit which was mailed separatly, but the same pieces came in the box with the blind. So it looks like I didn\'t need to order and pay for the additional pieces.
