Replacing pre-2005 blinds with new blackout blinds entailed replacing the bracket (easy) but also removing the timber runners which were nailed on either side of the frame. Took a while to work that out but once done, installation was easy.
This was different to previous one I have replaced elsewhere. Vital you put in new brackets as I initially left in the old ones and the blind performance was substandard. I would make it clearer on your website how important this is.
I wanted a roller blind for my old velux roof window and was not sure if I had chosen the correct product code online so I phoned customer services and they were very helpful and confirmed I had the correct one.
Clearer instructions for a novice like myself. Also the blind already in was not a Velux so all the fitments needed changed. Ok if your a joiner. Once we worked it out OK but did use the Internet for help.
We didn’t have the original fittings and the video on your site was useless and insulting. A video of a woman with a power drill unboxing then everything was done. No detailed video of how to install and the instructions said not to use a power drill so the video was also misleading please update the video. To use the replacement fixings and install was not an easy job and I had to call a male friend to help which was embarrassing. Make it easier to install for one person with limited diy knowledge.but has drill and tools etc Even with help the blind has imperfections and is letting in light on one side. You could do better.
My blind wouldn’t work, once I contacted velux they where more than helpful and couldn’t do enough for me, very friendly after sales team
