I ordered a blind to replace a faulty/failed blind that in fairness was 20+ years old. The quality of the old Velux blind was superb. I was very unimpressed to discover that I would need to order a fitting kit at nearly £8 as, whilst my window was listed, it was considered "old" and the new blind needed the extra kit. At the time I thought that was a bit much, but assumed that some complex kit would arrive that justified the £8. When the kit arrived (some time after the blind), it was delivered in a box the size of a shoebox. Fair enough, it's £8 worth of kit! Except when I opened the shoebox, there was a plastic packet the size of an envelope and inside that were two plastic blocks the size of a coin and two little screws! £8 for that????? You must be having a laugh at the mugs who have to buy that because they have older windows! Come on Velux! Those bits cannot cost more than a couple of pennies. Include them with the blind and stop ripping your customers off. And to add to my pain the aluminium frame isn't a great fit (narrower than the old one so not a match to the adjacent windows) and the actual blind is not as good quality as the original. It's left a nasty taste in my mouth! Would I recommend someone buy the blinds? Only because they are a custom fit.
