I am in treatment at UTSW for bladder cancer. The Doctor Who helped me even called the UTSW hotline to see If they wanted her to do more testing.

The doctor did an excellent job of diagnosing and explaining the problem and then prescribing a logical pair of antibiotics.

Absolutely ridiculous. Brought my asthmatic daughter just to check for pneumonia, and they proceeded to run multiple tests (including EKG, strep, flu a, flu b, covid, urine analysis, xray- only thing we asked for, IV for fluid and bloodwork- which then couldn’t even get a vein, steroid, breathing treatment, and antibiotics) for FOUR HOURS and use fear mongering when we declined being transferred to Cooks at 10:30pm. We followed up the next day with pediatrician and she confirmed it was just an asthma flare up. Also confirmed that the steroid and breathing treatment Legacy administered wasn’t even accurate or strong enough for her weight. And the cherry on top was the $800 bill.
NP was very pushy for me to get a CT scan of abdomen because of my vomiting/fever, saying she wanted to rule out pancreatitis. I deined and she got frustrated that I decided against her medical advice. I am a 44 year old healthy women who went there dehydrated with stomach flu symptoms. I understand there is protocol, but CT-scan is an expensive test and an infection could have been - and it was! - ruled out with blood work, which is much more affordable. Fortunutely, I do have good health insurance and could afford the unnecessary CT scan, but being so pushy to a patient in pain, who is unable to make educated decisions is far from the Hippocratic Oath take medical providers take. I am very disapponted.
