I have found my experience with the expat advisor excellent. He has been extremely knowledgeable and helpful. He relieved the stress I felt about the US expat tax filing requirement and the stress due to the complexity of the US forms. Overall, H&R Block Expat tax filing was a very positive experience.

My tax return was not completed correctly as non taxable income was treated as taxable despite evidence I provided to the contrary. As a result I paid $ 32,000 on account for my 2023 federal and state taxes. Now I have had my tax return done by a different company, I will be receiving a $ 31,452 refund. In all honesty, owing to the colossal error by H&R Block I think they should refund the amount they charged me for preparing the return.

I got so many emails urging me to file with H&R. Then, after I filed, there was dead silence and an unusually long delay in completing my taxes. I had no idea when I would get my tax documents back, or if the documents I had uploaded just disappeared. I\'m 70 years old and have had many tax accountants. I have never had to wait so long for my tax forms to be prepared, and especially without any communication that they were being worked on or when they\'d be ready. Perhaps you shouldn\'t overbook. I won\'t even get started on not knowing how much the job would cost until the very end, which turned out to be just $25 less than last year, despite the misleading promotion of $75 off.
