I had heard that it takes 3 to 4 hours to be seen by a doctor but I was seen within 15 minutes of arrival. I did explain to the doctor that I felt discomfort around my abdomen when wearing clothes. The doctor suspected appendix or kidney stones. He suspected kidney stones or appendix and suggested a urine analysis for the kidney stone and a CT scan for the appendix before making a diagnosis.It finally turned out to be herpes ( shingles) when I returned to India 3 days later. To be fair to the doctor, the rashes has not appeared when he examined me but I feel he should have suspected shingles when I told him about my discomfort while wearing clothes. The fee of 2000 dollars for the CT scan also put me off and, in retrospect, I’m glad that I didn’t opt for it. Other than this, I was very happy with the way I was treated during my visit to the ER.
